In 1826, the borough of Harrisville was founded by Ephraim Harris within Butler County, Pennsylvania. The first school was built in 1830 with a high school following in 1856. Originally, the land was once inhabited by the Seneca Tribe to grow corn due to the fertile soil. In the present, Harrisville is now one of 956 boroughs in Pennsylvania. The farmland used for crop and dairy farming allows residents to thrive. Residents also enjoy spending time outdoors, engaging in recreational activities such as fishing and hunting.
